Take it from her, travel edition: a kid’s review of a Mexico vacation
Friday, February 12th, 2016
In November 2015 we were given the opportunity to take an Air Transat Mexico vacation and stayed at one of the Azul Fives by Karisma. As parents, this was an absolutely amazing experience. We had a huge room which was actually multiple rooms. Doing that math, you might deduce that we were able to sleep in a separate room from our kids. And then doing the jump from there, you might realize how great it is to be on vacation, on a resort, sleeping in separate rooms from your kids.
We also loved the varied selection of food. I had a tuna steak that might have been one of the best things I have ever eaten and Andrea wouldn’t leave the tapas table. As you might expect, there were swim up bars at every pool on the resort and yes we took advantage of that.
But mainly, it was sunny, it was warm and the staff was incredibly friendly the entire time.
As parents, it isn’t hard to explain how wonderful it is to get away for a week.
But what did our kids think? I can’t for the life of me think like a kid any more. So I sat down with mine to get her review of our Mexico vacation. Make sure your kids check this out if you’re thinking of getting away to someplace warm, sunny and full of fun.
Were you nervous flying?
No. There were lots of movies for us to watch. Like more than ten movies. And we got to eat a lot too.
What was your favourite part, as a kid?
Swimming all day long. Sometimes three or four times. Sometimes even ten times. We also saw a monkey scare himself by turning on the water on a shower when she didn’t know she was doing it.
And the ocean. You can play in the ocean as long as you want. As long as you have sunscreen all the time.
What did you like about the hotel?
Jumping on the beds. Am I allowed to say that?
I also liked that we had food come to our room and that even meant ice cream and cake. There are also restaurants that have donuts. And the donuts are there and you can take them even if you didn’t eat anything else first.
What would you tell other kids bout going to Mexico?
It is so much fun. you can swim up to a bar and get strawberry drinks. And if you don’t know how to do cannonballs, there are so many pools there that yo can learn how to do a perfect one in just one week.
What are your top three things about a Mexico vacation?
Seeing weird animals.
Swimming two or even three times a day.
Drinking strawberry drinks in the pool.
I liked that there was a Kid’s place we could jump around in and do crafts in. And we never watched movies there. But they had some.
